A "mad" new bar that has been wowing the people of Hull since it opened in the summer has launched a new venture.

Situated in Manor Street, The Mad Hatter Café Bar officially opened to the public in August. The Alice In Wonderland-themed venue serves an array of colourful cocktails and leaves customers in awe with its quirky and crazy décor.

Taking to its Facebook page this week, the bar has announced the launch of 'The Mad Spud', a food menu featuring all things - you guessed it - potatoes.

Customers will soon be able to enjoy an array of comfort food as they sip their cocktails, from jacket potatoes with a range of hot and cold fillings, cheesy chips, southern fried chicken wraps and more.

Speaking to Hull Live, co-owner Lloyd Grieveson said: "We opened the bar in August and it's going well. People's reactions when they walk in is always, 'wow', because it's a bit mental. There's a grandfather clock on the ceiling and there's always something to look at when you get in there, so it keeps people entertained when they're looking round.

"In the next week we'll be opening The Mad Spud within the bar, and will offer jacket potatoes with hot and cold fillings, cheesy chips and wraps. We're just in the middle of designing the menu now. Takeaway will be available, too.

"We've also just launched an acoustic night on Wednesdays too and are planning on hosting quiz nights and other themed nights. We've just started serving coffee in the day time and bubble tea will be the next thing we're going to introduce."
