Alison Hammond addresses engagement rumours as she shows off 'cheap' ring

Alison Hammond has set the record straight on speculation about her engagement after she was spotted presenting This Morning with a dazzling ring on her finger. The TV star is currently in a romantic relationship with 26 year old David Putman, a masseuse who hails from Russia.

Alison, 49, met David when she arranged for a £150 massage session, and the two hit it off, leaving her "happier than ever." However, despite the appearance of an engagement, Alison has quashed the idea that they are planning to walk down the aisle anytime soon.

During her Friday stint on This Morning with co-host Dermot O'Leary, she clarified that the ring was nothing more than a stylish new piece of jewellery. Kicking off the Showbiz Roundup segment, Alison expressed surprise as she read from her iPad: "Hang on a minute, Alison Hammond's engaged?"

Dermot joined in the fun, exclaiming: "Woah, woah, woah, woah, hello! " and turned to showbiz correspondent Will Best to ask: "Where did this scoop come from?"

Interrupting, Dermot pointed out: "Basically, you've been wearing it on the wrong finger," prompting Alison to respond: "I'm so sorry. I put it on the wrong finger, let me swap it over."

She then proceeded to take off the ring from her wedding ring finger and placed it on her other hand. Will complimented Alison by saying, "gorgeous" referring to her ring. An amused Alison replied, "thank you so much. It's just some cheap ring that I got from... probably Primark! One of those cheap rings. It's nice, isn't it? ".

As the ITV camera crew gave a close-up view of her hands, she swapped the position of the ring, saying, "Let me swap it over, because we don't want those rumours going out there, do you know what I mean? Not just yet. Maybe one day, who knows."

On Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe's Parenting Hell podcast, the presenter updated about her relationship status, "No... I'm not single.. I'm dating. I'm dating."

She spoke about her 19 year old son Aiden, saying, "The person who I am seeing at the moment, he is on his Instagram and he is like 'Yeah I like him, he's not too in your face'. Aiden is on it."
