Alison Hammond announces new TV show with son Aidan

Alison Hammond has secured a fresh TV role alongside her son. The esteemed This Morning presenter will be journeying through the sunny state of Florida with her 19 year old son Aidan.

The new ten-part series for BBC Two, named Florida Unpacked, will document Alison and Aidan's travels as they discover the best that Florida has to offer on a budget-friendly basis. Given the escalating costs of visiting Florida, Alison and Aidan will veer off the typical tourist path to uncover some hidden treasures during their grand tour.

Discussing the programme, Alison said: "Travel is in my blood. For years I worked as a tour rep following in the footsteps of my dear mum.

"This meant I was lucky and got to visit Florida from a young age. I was so captivated by America's culture, food, TV shows, and films and some of my happiest memories are tied to those first formative trips to the U.S.

"We managed to budget our way to a place that totally captured our hearts... and now I can't wait to share Florida's best kept secrets with you all."

The series will comprise of 10 30-minute episodes, with the inaugural episode set to air on January 27, 2025. This will also mark the first full-length project featuring both Alison and her son Aidan on-screen.

They will share presenting duties. A preview of the show reveals: "Audiences will learn how to save on dining by avoiding tourist traps and discovering local, affordable restaurants."

"Accommodation will also feature, with comparisons from luxury stays, to camping in Florida's stunning natural settings, the series will provide inspiration for travellers of all budgets."

Florida Unpacked is set to premiere on January 27, 2025 on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
