Alison Hammond has made an honest admission about her future on This Morning. The bubbly Brummie has been a familiar face on the ITV show since 2002, following her stint on Big Brother.

The mum-of-one proved a huge hit with viewers as she interviewed the rich and famous, and was soon occasionally co-hosting alongside Phillip Schofield and Rylan Clark. She then took over the permanent Friday presenting slot alongside Dermot O'Leary in 2021, following the departure of Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

Before Christmas, Alison announced she would be taking a break from the daytime show - but fans were relieved to hear it was only temporary. The TV favourite's hiatus was due to her panto appearance in Peter Pan at the Birmingham Hippodrome, which concludes its run today (Sunday, February 2).

Speaking to OK! magazine, Alison lifted the lid on her time on This Morning, and revealed whty she loved it so much. She said: "My co-hosts, people like Dermot and Josie [Gibson], keep it real – I connect with real people. I love them all. I keep coming back for them, but also because no two days are the same. I don’t think I’d ever want to leave.”

Over the years, she has had many highlights on the show - including having a baby scan live on-air. Alison told the publication: “I was pregnant, did my scan on This Morning and found out that Aidan was a boy!”

Meeting Hollywood A-listers was something that still made Alison “very nervous”, she admitted. “They’re all humans, though, they all make mistakes – that’s what you need to remember,” she added. However she still has a few celebs she'd like to grill, revealing she'd "love a one-on-one with Oprah Winfrey or Michelle Obama”.

The Mirror reports that Alison, who’s dating David Putman, said she had "achieved everything" she wanted to but has one more career goal. "Maybe hosting Comic Relief one day would be good… But honestly? I’m happy with where I am in life,” she said.
