Alison is best known for fronting various showbiz and competition segments for the ITV daytime show, but she’ll be teaming up with both Rochelle Humes and Dermot O’Leary to help out on hosting duties during Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield’s annual summer break.
With usual Friday hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes presenting from Monday to Thursday in Holly and Phil’s absence, familiar faces – also including Strictly Come Dancing champ Ore Oduba – will be sitting on the sofa each Friday over the next seven weeks.
On 17 and 24 July, This Morning fashion presenter Rochelle will join forces with Ore. Rochelle will then host with X Factor’s Dermot on 31 July and into August.
Alison and Rochelle will then team up for Fridays in August, after which Alison and Dermot will pair up.
This Morning’s editor Martin Frizell said: “We’ve been inundated with viewers’ positive feedback throughout lockdown on how This Morning has provided that much needed comfort blanket each day.
“As the nation eases itself out of lockdown over the summer, we promise to continue to bring viewers more of what they trust us to do best - reflecting their real lives at home and what matters to them most.”
Over the years, Alison has earned a legion of fans with her celebrity interviews and competition segments, and has recently been entertaining viewers with cookery and cocktail recipes during lockdown.
She’s previously hosted episodes of This Morning with Ruth Langsford and Rylan Clark-Neal, while Rochelle, Ore and Dermot are also familiar to the show’s fans.
Rochelle filled in for Holly alongside Phillip in 2018 when she was in Australia presenting I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.
Dermot and Ore have both sat next to Holly as they’ve filled in for Phillip in the past, while Ore has also guest presented with Davina McCall and Lisa Snowdon before.
Holly and Phil presented their final show until September last Friday, which bosses marked with a compilation of their best bits of the year.
