Alison Hammond, who recently shed an impressive 11 stone, may find her co-hosting role on The Great British Bake Off a challenge, as she strives to maintain her weight loss.

Her fellow presenter, Noel Fielding, has highlighted the potential pitfalls of the Channel 4 show for those trying to stick to a healthy diet, including judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith.

As reported by The Guardian's What's On Magazine, the term "the Bake Off stone" is used to describe the tendency to put on weight during each 10-week series - a concern that This Morning host Alison was keen to avoid this year.

Noel revealed that Alison had sought his help in resisting the temptation of too much cake in the Bake Off tent.

The comedian shared with the magazine: "She tried to eat less this year but Alison's quite childlike. She said: 'Noel, stop me eating cake, I want to be good.'"

"The next time I saw her, she was literally like [he mimes shovelling in cake]. Alison has a good time all the time. You don't want her to not be eating the cakes."

Alison has been open about her weight struggles over the years, recently telling This Morning viewers that she sometimes had to purchase two plane seats due to her size, which at one point nearly reached 28 stone.

Speaking on the ITV programme, the presenter confessed: "I was nearly 28 stone. I'll be honest with you. That is morbidly obese, and I used to buy an extra seat because I didn't want to put anyone in a situation where I was touching them."

She recounted a particularly uncomfortable flight experience, saying: "I was made to feel uncomfortable on one occasion when I was so close to someone's seat and they asked to move but they ended up moving me into first class.

"It was embarrassing the whole thing and from that moment I just started buying two seats. I don't do it anymore because I've lost a bit of timber but not everyone can afford to do that."

The incident served as a catalyst for the celebrity to overhaul her lifestyle, resulting in her weight plummeting to under 17 stone.

In a recent Instagram post, Alison shared a glimpse of her fitness journey, showcasing her exercise routine with personal trainer Lui Mancini.
