Almost Famous confirms closure of all sites in 'tearful eyes' statement
The founder of the Almost Famous burger chain has announced the closure of all its sites. Owner Beau Myers issued a statement today citing the current economic climate as "too challenging" for the business to overcome.
Almost Famous launched in Manchester in 2012 before expanding to Liverpool's Parr Street shortly after. The restaurant became known for its array of burgers stacked with toppings, along with wings and a variety of loaded fries.
In an update issued this morning, owner Beau confirmed the closure of all remaining sites due to "lingering debt." Beau said: "It is with broken hearts that today, 27th January 2025, we announce the closure of all Almost Famous venues across Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds.

"The current economic climate has proven too challenging for us to overcome, with lingering debt from Covid and rising costs across every aspect of the business. Despite our best efforts, we are no longer able to continue.
"For over 13 years, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented and passionate people in hospitality. We will do everything we can to support you during this transition.
"If anyone in the hospitality industry has job opportunities, we kindly ask you to reach out to us at famous.reachout@gmail.com - helping our team find new roles is our top priority right now."
The statement added: "To everyone who’s been part of our story - thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The memories we’ve made together will stay with us forever.
"This isn’t how we wanted the story to end, but we are proud of everything we accomplished and the joy we brought to so many. And while we must say goodbye for now, we hold onto the hope that Almost Famous may return one day in some form.
"Anyone with any ideas, opportunities or anything positive please also hit famous.reachout@gmail.com - no neg please we feel bad enough already."
Almost Famous has operated in various locations, including Leeds and multiple sites in Manchester. In May 2024, a statement was shared online admitting the Withington venue was "struggling", which was followed by the closure of that site in September.
The closures come just a few months after the team opened a late-night smashed burger spot, Super Awesome Deluxe in the former Lono Cove site in Manchester's Northern Quarter and its underground bar, Ego Death. Both venues will remain open.
