'Almost Got Blown Away': Severe Weather Lashes Southern Ontario

Severe storms lashed Ontario’s Saugeen Shores area on September 7, downing powerlines and trees and leaving residents without electricity.

This footage by George Brossault shows his Port Elgin home being lashed by heavy rain and strong winds. Brossault can be heard saying he “almost got blown away” by the wind.

The ECCC warned a line of thunderstorms in the Ontario area could produce winds up to 68 mph, hail as large as 2.5 centimeters, and a possible tornado on the evening of September 7. Credit: George Brossault via Storyful
