Antonio Conte says he expects to hand Alvaro Morata his debut in Tuesday’s International Champions Cup clash with Bayern Munich.

Chelsea’s record signing took part in training for the first time since his move from Real Madrid after he flew out to Singapore at the weekend, but is only expected to come on as a second half substitute.

"My plan is to give him the possibility to play part of the game, but not from the start because he only arrived [on Sunday] and started to work with us," said Conte.

"Morata is a young player who has a lot of experience in his career because he played with two big teams in Real Madrid and Juventus. He has also played a lot of games in the Champions League and won it last season.

"He can have a big impact in the Premier League. It's different if you compare it to leagues in other countries because it's very tough and physically it's strong, but Morata is ready to have a big impact."

The striker, who arrived for an initial fee of £58million, was also praised by former Blues boss - and now Bayern Munich head coach – Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti knows Morata well having been coach of Real Madrid, although didn't play him regularly.

"Morata is a fantastic young striker,” said Ancelotti.

“I think Chelsea have a really good signing because he is a player that can help the team to be better. He is a complete striker and can play in different positions.
