Alvaro Morata says "destiny" is behind his reunion with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte after completing a £70million move to Stamford Bridge.

The striker arrived from Real Madrid for a club-record fee last week, becoming the Premier League champions' fourth new face of the summer window.

Morata was signed by Conte when in charge of Juventus in 2014, only to quit his post soon just a day after the squad returned for pre-season.

Conte failed with a bid for Morata last summer as the striker opted to a return to the Santiago Bernabeu instead. Now Morata is relishing working under the Italian coach.

"I know Antonio wanted me in the past and I really want to work with Antonio, and finally destiny put us together," Morata told the club's official website.

"I can’t wait to play for him and for Chelsea and to win together.

"It was disappointing in 2014 when he went to Italy, but I played well and had a good year at Juventus, but I really want to work with this coach and finally I can.

"I know his work, the staff. I know it is a lot of tactics and I really like this game and I know how to play with this system."
