Amanda Holden has marked her 50th birthday by posing in the nude on top of a giant cake as she vowed to celebrate in a "HUGE" way, post-lockdown.

The Britain’s Got Talent star – who broke lockdown rules by travelling more than 200 miles to see her parents in Cornwall last week – proudly bared all as she celebrated the milestone birthday on Tuesday.

Holden wrote on Instagram: "How did This happen! Half a century.. time flies.

"Thank you for all your kind & loving messages today.. my husband Chris and my gorgeous girls have spoiled me rotten and it’s still going. My friends have sent the most hilarious messages & presents and made this day extra special.

"I can’t wait to celebrate in a HUGE way when we can.. I’m 50 all year and all year we’re gonna party. Hang on to your loved ones. It’s nearly over."

The TV and radio presenter lives with record producer Chris Hughes, her husband of 12 years, and their two daughters Alexa, 15, and Hollie, nine.

Holden began celebrating her birthday early, on Friday, while presenting her Heart FM radio show with Jamie Theakston.

The former Cutting It star was pictured knocking back a glass of bubbly at 6:30am after being surprised by colleagues in the studio.

Later that day she broke lockdown rules by travelling to Cornwall to see her parents.

Holden said she made the journey after receiving a "distressing telephone call from her elderly father on Friday afternoon".

In a statement, her agent added: "Amanda is aware that all families are going through difficulty during these turbulent times.

"On balance Amanda felt the round trip to Cornwall was necessary to contain the matter at her family home."

The agent added that Holden was "devastated" that she had to break the travel rules on this occasion, but stressed the star "did not act on a whim and has adhered to COVID rules every step of the way in all three lockdowns".

Both of her parents have been vaccinated and she is being tested for coronavirus once a week, so she "felt she was not putting her parents at risk".
