Amanda Holden made sure her daughter's 14th birthday was celebrated in style as the youngster was serenaded by thousands at the Britain's Got Talent auditions.

Lexi joined her famous mother at the third day of auditions at the London Palladium yesterday only to be presented with a cake and sung ‘Happy Birthday’ by the audience as well as judges Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.

Ever the leader, Simon Cowell was on hand to conduct the crowds.

Holden, 48, posted sweet footage of the moment to her social media channels, captioning the video: "Lexi is as old as @bgt - 14! So happy she had this wonderful moment with her friends and Us."

Yesterday also saw the Heart Radio presenter share a throwback picture of Lexi as a baby alongside a current photo.

She wrote: "How did this happen. My beautiful, funny (very tall) daughter Lexi turns 14 today. I always think it’s impossible to love her more. But with each year our hearts are fit to burst! She’ll always be our baby."

Holden shares Lexi with husband Chris Hughes, with whom she also has another daughter, Hollie, seven.

The Britain's Got Talent auditions are currently being recorded ahead of the show's comeback in the spring, with the talent competition typically launching in April in previous years.

Last year, it was reported that Cowell had signed a deal with ITV in order to keep the variety talent show on screens until 2024.

The agreement also renewed The X Factor despite flagging ratings, confirming at least one more season of the singing contest.
