It was a very awkward edition of Britain's Got More Talent tonight for any number of reasons, perhaps for no-one more so than Jai McDowall.

Singer-songwriter Jai won Britain's Got Talent back in 2011 over the likes of fellow musician Ronan Parke and New Bounce. You remember that illustrious grand finale, don't you?

If not, don't feel too bad. During Britain's Got More Talent on Wednesday (May 31), Amanda Holden revealed her own faulty memory about BGT history while debating if the departure of Simon's Golden Buzzer act Sarah Ikumu was the biggest shock in the show's history.

"The biggest shock was when Susan Boyle didn't win," she argued. "That was a massive shocker. I mean, Diversity were absolutely brilliant but it was a shoo-in! It's the first time we made television history."

"What about when Jai won?" Stephen asked the judges.

"Who?" Amanda deadpanned, before clarifying: "Only joking!"

While there's no actual comment yet from Jai, the viewers watching on from home certainly had a few things to say about that subtle shade-throwing from Ms Holden.

Jai McDowall was previously involved in controversy for hitting out at Britain's Got Talent back in 2012, when he accused Simon Cowell of being "anti-Scottish".

"He has said in the press that maybe I shouldn't have won last year's show, but tough," Jai complained at the time. "I did. It's one of these things that hasn't gone in his favour. The anti-Scottish thing is going to put Scots off him and could affect the popularity of Britain's Got Talent."

Six years later and BGT is still alive and kicking! Britain's Got More Talent was full of action on Wednesday when Simon admitted he was "pissed off" over the night's result, while David Walliams rowed with presenter Stephen Mulhern.
