Amanda Holden has come out in support of This Morning star Ruth Langsford, amid claims that the presenter is feuding with her colleague Phillip Schofield.

The news was being reported by Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts on this morning's (December 9) Heart radio show, and Amanda's co-host Jamie Theakston referenced Amanda's own reportedly tense relationship with Phillip Schofield by joking: "If only there were someone here who might be able to help us with that story."

"Listen, Jamie, I've drawn a line under all those issues with Phillip," Amanda replied.

"I'm just gonna say that I really admire anyone who sticks up for themselves because it is not an easy thing to do.

"There's a tin opener and there's a can somewhere and other people have found the tin opener," the Britain's Got Talent judge concluded. "That's all I'm saying!"

Earlier this year, it was reported that Amanda and Phillip were supposedly engaged in a 'feud', which began when Phillip allegedly stood in the way of Amanda getting a co-presenting job on This Morning whilst Holly Willoughby was away working on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in Australia.

Back in July, ITV denied claims Phillip had 'banned' Amanda from working on the show, saying: "These reports are completely untrue. Presenters don't make decisions regarding who appears on the show."

Amanda's comments today come after it was reported by The Sun that Ruth had filed a 'formal complaint' against Phillip after he "rudely" cut her off during a live broadcast.

It's also been reported that there are tensions between Phillip and regular co-host Holly Willoughby too, but ITV has dismissed all the reports as "malicious gossip".

"It's deeply disappointing and unfair for Phillip to be the target of this sort of malicious gossip," an ITV spokesperson said (via Heart).

"Phillip is a much-respected broadcaster and colleague and this is absolutely not a description of This Morning that we recognise. Holly and Phil are great friends both on and off-screen and are popular among viewers and colleagues alike."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV. Tune in to Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden weekdays from 6.30am-10am.
