Amanda Owen addressed her split from husband Clive as their new TV show got underway, saying the last year had been “incredibly hard”.

The Our Yorkshire Farm stars split in 2022 after 22 years of marriage but have now reunited for the new Chanel 4 series Our Farm Next Door. It follows them as they restore Anty John's Farm, a derelict building in the Yorkshire Dales, with the help of their nine children: Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine and Nancy.

Both opened up about their split as the new show started, with Amanda describing them as “separate” although they are still married. She said they had “got through” their hard year and both made it clear that while they are no longer a couple they are parenting and working on their latest project together.

The former couple had tied the knot in 2000 but two years later they confirmed they had broken up, and they have suggested that fame affected their marriage.

Amanda — aka the Yorkshire Shepherdess — spoke about what happened in the first minutes of their new More4 show, saying: “Me and Clive, although we are still husband and wife, we are separate. This last year has been incredibly hard in so many respects but we’ve got through it.”

Clive added: “Me and Mandy, we’ve had a strange few years and we’re now in a place where although we are not actually together, we are still in business together, we still have these kids together. It’s a crazy situation but it isn’t; it’s the most sensible thing for everybody to do."

Amanda went on: "It’s just what happened, just pressures and stresses but now we are kind of pulling back together again because we kind of need to, because we’ve got a house to do up.”

Later on, she confessed that the pair sometimes rubbed each other up the wrong way as they were working as they had different ways of doing things, but she said that ultimately they were "both on the same side".
