Amanda Owen 'blamed' herself after loss on Our Farm Next Door
The latest episode of the Channel 4 show focused on lambing season
What did you miss?
Amanda Owen admitted she blamed herself after the death of a lamb on her farm.
The star — aka the Yorkshire Shepherdess — is back on TV in new Channel 4 series Our Farm Next Door, following the end of the popular Our Yorkshire Farm. It sees her and her ex-husband Clive and their nine children renovating Anty John's, a derelict property near their Ravenseat Farm.
The latest episode was filmed during lambing season and followed Owen and her children as they cared for the newborn animals. But she was upset to lose one, saying she wondered if it would have been different if she had been "a bit quicker".
What, how and why?
In the episode, the family had plenty to celebrate as winter turned to spring and they welcomed new lambs, including some triplets. However, one could not be saved.
Owen said: "When you are lambing a sheep, I don't know what the outcome is going to be. Sadly at lambing time you do get casualties. You try to do your best, right?
"But I lost a lamb the other day. And I blamed myself. And I felt to myself, well, you know, maybe if I had been a bit quicker. Maybe if I had been, you know, sort of seen to her a little bit sooner, that wouldn't have happened."
"It's quite draining," she went on.

The latest instalment also saw some plastering getting under way at Anty John's, which Owen welcomed as it would help to keep out the draft. Work on the roof continued, some walls went up and drainage issues were tackled. Plus the family revealed they had decided to incorporate the barn into their new home, making the house a better size.
"There is plenty to do yet, but I feel like we have turned the corner," said Owen.
