'Amazing' Birmingham attraction to reopen days after closure
A Birmingham attraction and nightclub best known for its rollerskating rink announced it will reopen under new ownership. In addition to providing a place to skate in the city, the venue will aim to provide a premier event space in Digbeth.
After two and a half years, Roller Jam Digbeth announced its closure last week. However, the venue has undergone a name change and will reopen under a new name.
In an online statement, Roller Jam Digbeth posted: “We are pleased to announce that this venue is now under new ownership and will be operating under the new name: Digbeth Arena. This exciting transition will transform the venue into a premier event space, featuring select roller skating sessions for your enjoyment.

“We look forward to meeting all of you, our future customers and sharing further updates shortly. Please stay tuned for more information.”
In recent months, Roller Jam Digbeth had been criticised online for its skate rink.
On Google Reviews, a reviewer posted: "I try and support this place but not sure how long I can deal with it. Roller Jam is becoming a proper dump. Not good! The best thing about Roller Jam is the DJ in the back room on Thursday nights."
Another user commented: "The flooring is unsuitable for skating. I paid my money and left within 10 minutes, and I will never return."
With the news that Digbeth Arena will still be a home where people can rollerskate, Instagram users have taken to the change.
Tahirah commented: "Fantastic news. I've been wanting to visit for so long."
Another user said: "Would appreciate it if the floors and ceiling get fixed."
Jerome Barnett posted: "Happy tears."
