Amazing NASA Picture Of London Lights Taken From The International Space Station

London has always been renowned for its bright lights, but they shine even brighter when photographed from above the planet.

This picture was taken by astronaut Kjell Lindgren from on board the International Space Station.

It depicts London in all its blazing glory, illuminated and shimmering as the deep black of the River Thames winds its way through the lights.

The city looks just as alive and vibrant from above as it does on the ground.

Lindgren took the picture when the space station was orbiting the Earth at a height of about 250 miles. Although born in Taiwan and an American citizen, Lindgren spent much of his childhood in England.

He is on board the International Space Station with fellow astronaut Scott Kelly.
