Amazon’s Biggest UK Warehouse Gears Up For Black Friday And Christmas Rush

Amazon’s biggest distribution centre in the UK is getting ready for its busiest time of year, as shopping extravaganzas Black Friday and Christmas approach. The enormous distribution centre in Dunfermline, Scotland, is as big as 14 football pitches and houses more than a million items stocked on towering shelves. To deal with all the extra orders, a thousand staff along with extra seasonal workers make their way round the aisles collecting orders, then dropping them off in the dispatch hall. Last year Amazon sold a staggering 5.5 million items over 24 hours on Black Friday as prices were slashed and customers scrambled for bargains.
