If there’s anything 2020 has taught us, it’s the importance of using hand sanitizer. And since the demand for hand sanitizers isn’t slowing down anytime soon, many retailers have begun to create their own, including one very popular haircare brand on Amazon.

Known for its No. 1 anti-thinning hair shampoo, Pura D’or has now tossed its hat into the antiseptic ring. The hair company recently rolled out several new products, including two new gel hand sanitizers.

The Pura D’or Superior and Pura D’Or Premium Hand Sanitizer gels are 70 percent alcohol-based and have quickly become fan favorites. In fact, they are currently listed as the No. 1 and No. 2 best-selling bulk quantity hand sanitizers on Amazon.

While both contain the same base ingredients, it’s the Superior Hand Gel that appears to stand out among reviewers.

According to multiple Amazon shoppers, it not only helps fight bacteria, but it also keeps your hands feeling “soft.”

“I’m sensitive to fragrances,” the reviewer wrote. “While the fragrance of this sanitizer may not appeal to everyone, it doesn’t bother me. Leaves my hands feeling smooth and soft.”

That’s partly because both products contain moisturizing ingredients that help fight your skin’s dryness — including organic aloe vera gel, glycerin and vitamin E. Additionally, each sanitizer is made with several soothing essential oils to help keep your hands clean and smelling fresh.

For example, the Premium Hand Gel has a lavender scent and contains eucalyptus oil to help support your immune system.

Although many hand sanitizers may not be harmful, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has recently issued a warning on some products not to use due to traces of methanol and “concerningly” low ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol levels. So, if you’re in the market for sanitizer, be sure to consult that list and look out for items that are at least 60 percent alcohol-based, according to the CDC.
