Amazon Prime Day 2018 has finally arrived, meaning that an array of huge discounts will be available on the site from midday today for shoppers to indulge in.

For a mere 36 hours, consumers will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of products at reduced prices, including TVs, tablets, coffee machines, spirits and pet products.

However, these discounts aren’t on offer for everyone who visits the site, but only those who are members of Amazon Prime, as the name suggests.

An Amazon Prime membership costs £79 a year or £7.99 a month.

If you’re not yet a member but want to take advantage of the huge savings on offer, you can still sign up before the promotion commences.

There are different types of deals on offer until midnight on 17 July as part of Amazon Prime Day, which consist of ‘Spotlight Deals’ and ‘Lightning Deals’.

Spotlight Deals are discounts that will run non-stop throughout the 36-hour period, while Lightning Deals are discounts that will only be available on products for a few hours at a time.

Amazon has released a list of products that will be heavily reduced so that you can be ready to add them to your shopping basket the minute noon strikes.

IndyBest has rounded up the best deals in tech and gaming, which includes massive discounts on laptops, headphones, home electronics and phones.

There are some nifty tricks that you can employ in order to get the best deals possible before the masses.

Downloading the Amazon app will give you a headstart, as you’ll be able to track Lightning Deals and set up alerts that will notify you when certain deals go live.

Furthermore, several brands are going to be releasing brand new products exclusively during Amazon Prime Day, so that members will be the first to get their hands on them.

On top of that, people can arrange for their purchases to be delivered in as little as an hour using Prime Now.

Amazon Prime Day discounts range from 50 per cent off Amazon devices to 30 per cent off sports brands such as Puma and New Balance.
