Yahoo News Amazon Prime Day 2022 – live: When is it and what are the best early UK deals?
Calling all bargain-hunters: one of the biggest sales of the year is just around the corner, with Amazon Prime Day 2022 confirmed to be kicking off in just over two weeks.
Second only to Black Friday, the online giant’s annual flash sale will see huge savings across tech, home and kitchen appliances, alcohol, TVs, kids’ toys and more. Officially returning on Tuesday 12 and running through to Wednesday 13 July, the shopping extravaganza lasts a full 48 hours with thousands of products from big-name brands reduced, including Apple, Samsung, KitchenAid, Shark, Philips, Bosch and Rimmel.
Early deals kicked off on 21 June (a full three weeks before Prime Day officially starts), so the 2022 sale is already shaping up to be one of Amazon’s biggest years yet. The retailer has never dropped Prime Day deals this early, so you’re in for a treat.

Amazon Prime Day 2022 is very nearly here. It’s been confirmed that the sale will return on Tuesday 12 July through to Wednesday 13 July. There’s even more good news for savvy shoppers too, as the retailer kicked off its early deals a whopping three weeks in advance of the big day. An early Prime Day deal, this discount on the recessed centura – which can be angled to illuminate corners and tackle dull spots – sees the price of each smart bulb drop to £37.60. Not only are they energy-efficient LED lights, but they can be controlled using voice commands or set to gently turn on as the sun goes down.

Not all haircare brands are made equal. But there’s one that stands out from the rest, and it’s of course Olaplex. The brand’s products work, but naturally, they don’t come cheap. Ahead of Prime Day, Amazon has slashed the price of one of our favourite hair oils.

When we reviewed the brand’s entire range, we noticed serious improvements in our lack-lustre locks. And its bonding oil was a firm favourite. Our writer noted that despite its “lightweight formula, it is very nourishing and didn’t leave our hair feeling heavy or greasy”. The “other great thing about the bonding oil is that it provides up to 230C heat protection, as such, it’s great to use before using heat on your hair”, they added. A little goes a long way, so you’ll unlikely make a dent in the bottle until you’re many months down the line.

Apple is notorious for not taking part in sales, but you’re likely to find competitive prices at Amazon on Prime Day. Case in point on the tech giant’s popular earbuds.

These earbuds are pretty pricey but, thanks to the early Prime Day deal, you can snap them up for a fraction of the cost. When we reviewed the Airpods pro, our tester said they “are a high-end pair of earphones that are difficult to find much fault in”. As for the noise quality, our tester added that “it’s a sound topped by few rivals,” with an impressive active noise-cancelling function that shuts out ambient noise. The Prime Day price is cheaper than the price they were reduced to on Black Friday.

It has great speeds thanks to its quad-core processor, there’s a choice of 16GB or 32GB of storage packed under the hood. You can also expect up to seven hours of use on one charge, whether you’re listening to music, browsing or enquiring with Alexa about what to have for lunch.

You do indeed need to be a Prime subscriber to take part in the Apple Prime Day sales. It’s not called Prime Day for any old reason.
An Amazon Prime membership costs £7.99 a month or £79 for a year. Signing up couldn’t be easier, all you need to do is go to the Amazon Prime landing page and enter your details.
Savvy shoppers who don’t have a Prime subscription yet will want to sign up for a 30-day free trial. This will still gain you access to the sale. You’ll want to do this at the start of July, however, because it only lasts 30 days. Once you’re all done shopping, just cancel your membership and you won’t be charged. Thank us later.
