Amazon Prime film trailer leaves fans convinced actor is WWE legend John Cena
Film enthusiasts were left bewildered after mistaking a typically recognisable movie star for another renowned actor in a new film trailer.
The comedy film, Brothers, is set to premiere on Amazon Prime and boasts an all-star cast under the direction of Max Barbakow, who earned critical praise for his 2020 debut, Palm Springs.
The upcoming film stars Peter Dinklage, known for Game of Thrones, and Marvel's Josh Brolin as twin brothers lured back into a life of crime. Brolin's character, a reformed criminal, finds his attempts at living a straight life thwarted when he reunites with his brother, played by Dinklage, for their biggest heist.

Dinklage gained fame for his role as Tyrion Lannister in HBO's fantasy series, while Brolin is recognised for his roles as Cable in Deadpool 2 and the formidable villain Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, among others. The cast also includes Marisa Tomei, Brendan Fraser and Glenn Close.
However, some fans have suggested that Brolin appears almost unrecognisable in the recently released trailer, with many mistaking him for WWE superstar turned Hollywood actor John Cena, who has starred in two Amazon Prime original films in 2024 alone, Jackpot and Ricky Stanicky, reports the Mirror.
Writing on X, formerly Twitter, Ometony posted: "I kept thinking Brolin was John Cena the whole trailer." Marevicko agreed and said: "Josh Brolin looks more like John Cena than John Cena in this one."
Other fans shared their excitement about the rest of the cast which includes Academy Award winning Brendan Fraser. LunaNyaVT posted: "Yes! Brendan Fraser getting more new roles, I'm super excited to watch this!"
JokinPhilosophy said: "Oh man, the cast in this one...this looks hella fun. Excited to watch." While Llnyrn added: "Glenn Close on a roll these days. Good for her!"
Brothers is available to stream on Amazon Prime from October 17.
