My fellow Canadians, picture this: You're shovelling. It's bone-achingly cold. The wind is viciously assaulting the two inches of skin around your eyes not covered by your balaclava. But suddenly, you feel heat. Trickling down from your wrists to your nearly-numb fingertips is a gentle warmth. And no, it's not one of the first signs of superficial frostbite; it's heated gloves.

That's right, friends, waterproof battery-heated gloves are a thing and right now, they're 15 per cent off at Amazon Canada.

What are they?

The battery-operated heated gloves from the Savior Heat Store are a godsend for Canadian winters. The mittens come with three heat settings (low, medium, and high) so that winter warriors can keep their fingers nice and toasty while shovelling the snow, racing down a mountain, or walking the dog.

Large infrared heating elements cover the back of the hand and reach to the fingertips. Once turned on, the gloves warm up within 30 seconds and have a long-lasting heating time of up to 6.5 hours.

In addition to protecting your paws from bitter winter weather, the gloves are crafted from a phone-friendly, touchscreen material so that you don't have to take them off to use your device.

'Bring on old man winter!'

While the Savior Heat gloves have only earned a handful of reviews, those who have tried them call them "super nice" and "toasty warm."

The gloves are "life-changing," raves one shopper. You're able to spend "prolonged periods of time outdoors" without "feeling the uncomfortable chill." They have "been a blessing."

"Bring on old man winter!" writes another reviewer. They're "extremely warm" and "well made."

Reviewers say the heat extends from the wrist to the fingertips and covers both sides of your hands. There are "no cold zones," reports one shopper.

While the gloves have earned dozens of positive reviews and an average rating of 4.5 stars, some users wish the battery life lasted longer.

"Overall, I like them," writes one user, who said that they were "just a little disappointed" with the battery duration.

When on high, the batteries only "last for a few hours," so you may need to charge them daily.

Verdict

While an investment at $119, Amazon reviewers call these heated gloves a "blessing" and say they're "life-changing" on cold winter days. However, before you head to checkout, some users note the battery life is limited, something to keep in mind if you need them for prolonged use.
