Amber said in a sworn statement that there had been other incidents of violence during their short marriage.

Her fans have flocked to her defence on Twitter, with some demanding that Johnny’s new movie, in which he reprises his role as The Mad Hatter, is boycotted.

Under the hashtag #westandwithamber, fans have said that the allegations of violence should spell the end for Johnny’s acting career.

Amber and Johnny were married last year. They announced their plans to divorce earlier this week.

Amber claimed that she has lived in constant fear of her husband and has been terrified of him returning to their home to terrorise her emotionally and physically.

A spokesperson for Johnny has dismissed her claims, saying she is insulting real victims of domestic violence.
