Amber Peat's Parents: We Just Want You Home

The parents of the missing teenager Amber Peat have made an emotional plea for their daughter to come home - as police begin searching through undergrowth in the area where she went missing.

According to Nottinghamshire Police, the 13-year-old left home on Saturday afternoon following a "minor disagreement" over chores.

They had just returned from a holiday in Holywell Bay in Cornwall, which was described as "fantastic".

Amber's mother, Kelly, said: "We were in the living room, and I heard the front door slam, and that's when I realised. I couldn't see her anywhere - she was just gone.

"If you're watching this, or if anybody knows where she is, just send her home. Please."

Her stepfather, Danny, described her as someone who "just wants to read", and "not the kind of girl that would wander off".

Superintendent Matt McFarlane confirmed that investigators are pursuing all lines of inquiry - including the possibility that Amber may be attempting to visit her biological father, who lives in Scotland.

She was last seen in the Mansfield area at around 5.30pm on 30 May, and concerns are growing for her welfare.

On Monday night, locals knocked on doors throughout the town – and searched through wooded areas – in hope of finding the teenager.

Officers have also been carrying out searches close to where Amber went missing, as they "believe there is every chance she is still in the Mansfield area".

Amber is about 4ft tall, and has a petite build with brown eyes. She also has a tiny scar above her lip.

When she went missing, she was believed to be wearing a black Puma zip-up top, blue jeans, and purple trainers.

Amber did not have a mobile phone or any cash on her when she left the house.

Kirsty Gittings, missing persons co-ordinator at Nottinghamshire Police, has urged anyone with information to call the force on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111..

"Amber, if you are reading this appeal please get in touch with us or your parents. They are worried about you," she added.
