AMBER Roberts has rejoined Oxford United Women in time for their match against Portsmouth tomorrow.

The full back is back at United after a spell at Cardiff, and says the current squad is the strongest she’s seen it.

She told the club website: “It’s great to be back. Oxford United is just one big family and a great team on and off the pitch to be a part of, although there are a lot of new faces.

“The squad is looking the strongest I’ve ever seen it for sure.

“But everyone has welcomed me back with open arms, the newer players as well as the ones I knew from before, so it has been easy.

“The team is on a fantastic run at the moment so I am looking to add competition to the squad and be part of what we all hope will end up being a really successful season.”

Boss Liam Gilbert added: “Amber did really well for us when she was here before and has fitted back in straight away.

“She knows what we are about as a club, we know she is a really good player, so it’s a fantastic new addition to the squad and we have real competition in every position as we go into the business end of the season.”

United will look to maintain their 100 per cent home record when they welcome Portsmouth to Court Place Farm.
