Ambulance rushes to busy road after man found injured in street

A man was found injured on a busy road in Wolverhampton earlier today (Friday, January 24). An ambulance was called to School Road in the Tettenhall Wood area following discovery of the man at around 9am.

Medics treated the man at the scene for injuries described as non-life threatening. He was then taken to New Cross Hospital for further treatment, a spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance said.

They added that the man will now undergo further assessment by staff at the hospital. In a statement to BlackCountryLive, a spokesperson for the service said: "We were called shortly before 9am to an injured patient on School Road, Tettenhall Wood in Wolverhampton.

"One ambulance attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a man with injuries which were not life threatening. He received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to New Cross Hospital for further assessment."

The location is off notoriously busy with traffic during rush hour with many bus routes passing through the road towards Wolverhampton city centre.
