American fast food giant Wendy’s opens first central London restaurant

American fast food giant Wendy’s has opened its first central London restaurant since relaunching in the UK.

The iconic hamburger chain opened its doors in Camden on Tuesday having previously launched restaurants in Croydon, Stratford, Ilford and Romford.

Outside London, Wendy’s has opened stores in Reading, Oxford and Brighton with plans to expand elsewhere in the UK in future.

It has also opened several dark kitchens across the capital in partnership with REEF to offer deliveries on food platforms including Deliveroo and Uber Eats.

Abigail Pringle, Wendy’s chief development officer, previously said sales had proven so popular they intend to expand further.

She explained: “We have seen incredible success that outperformed our expectations, and it’s clear to us that customers are loving our fresh, high-quality food.”

The Camden-based restaurant will provide fans with the signature items they know and love across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including the Baconator, Dave’s Single and the Spicy Chicken Sandwich.
