American heavy metal star Scott Ian at Glasgow pub ahead of Hydro gig

An American heavy metal star has been pictured at a Glasgow venue ahead of a gig at the Hydro.

Scott Ian, who is known for being the rhythm guitarist and lyricist and co-founder of the thrash metal band Anthrax paid a visit to The Pot Still in the city centre.

The Pot Still is a much loved venue offering over 1,000 whiskies, as well as Scottish and German beers.

And the artist praised the venue, as he posed for a picture outside the bar. Before his gig on Wednesday, he said on Instagram: "When in Glasgow. So much whisky, only one mouth.

"Glasgow Hydro tonight! The return of the Kings of Scotland! See ya soon!"

Fans took to the comments, expressing delight at his visit. One posted: "Best pub in town!"

Another said: "Love The Pot Still. A third added: "Have fun in Glasgow, it's an awesome city."

The band currently features Scott Ian, drummer Charlie Benante, vocalist Joey Belladonna, lead guitarist Jonathan Donais and bassist Frank Bello.

Anthrax is known for its hits such as Got the Time and Bring the Noise.
