Ryan Murphy has announced that an original American Horror Story character will be making a return in the new season.

The showrunner is hard at work on the 10th season of the long-running anthology series, which will see the on-screen reunion of Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates, as well as countless others.

Murphy whet fans’ appetites by posting a picture of Rubber Man on Instagram, captioned with: “Coming soon.”

Rubber Man is the character who, after debuting in Murder House back in 2011, returned seven years later in Apocalypse. Actors to have worn the suit in previous episodes include Peters, Dylan McDermott, Zachary Quinto and Cody Fern.

It’s currently unknown which form he’ll take in the forthcoming season, which will also see Home Alone star Macauley Culkin join the cast.

Earlier this year, the show was renewed for a further three seasons, ensuring the show will remain on television until season 13 at least.

The show’s most recent season was its ninth. The instalment, titled AHS:1984, paid homage to the 1980s slasher genre and followed characters at a sleepaway camp.

American Horror Story returns on FX and FOX this September.
