American Horror Story star Emma Roberts has announced her engagement to actor Cody John.

Roberts, best known for her roles in Ryan Murphy's hit thriller franchise, shared the happy news with her fans on Instagram on Tuesday (July 16).

"Putting this here before my mom tells everyone," read the post caption with a red love heart emoji, shared alongside a photo of the couple smiling as Roberts displays her engagement ring.

Lindsay Lohan, The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev and High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale all commented their congratulations on the post.

Glee actress Lea Michele was another friend to send her well wishes to the bride-to-be. "Already planning the bachelorette!!!! So happy for you babe!!!" she wrote.

John is best known for his roles in The CW's In the Dark and Wu-Tang: An American Saga. The two first confirmed their romance in August 2022, with John sharing a photo of him kissing Roberts on his Instagram page.

John shared a sweet birthday tribute to his now-fiancée in February this year, posting a black and white selfie of him kissing Roberts. "Happy birthday teenie tiny," read the caption.

Roberts marked John's birthday in March 2023 with a similar post, showing two photos of the pair together with the caption: "Happy birthday sheesh."

The Scream Queens star is mother to 3-year-old son Rhodes, who she shares with her former partner Garrett Hedlund. The two split in January 2022.

Roberts has previously dated her Wild Child co-star Alex Pettyfer and Glee star Chord Overstreet. She was also engaged to her American Horror Story co-star Evan Peters, before the two parted ways in January 2019.

American Horror Story airs on FX in the US and Disney+ in the UK, where seasons 1-9 are also available to buy on Prime Video.
