American says roads in UK are 'the scariest' – but not because we drive on left
An American man says being a car passenger on UK roads is the "scariest thing" – and it's not just because they drive on the opposite side.
AJ Slambino, who goes by the same username online, has built a following of over 300,000 on TikTok by sharing his UK escapades as an American. The 43-year-old wrestler, open to trying almost anything British to entertain his followers, draws a firm line at driving on UK roads.
In a video amassing over 15,000 likes, AJ can be seen replying to a comment: "We also drive on the left side of the road. Wooo! Is it freaky?" AJ shared that "being a passenger in the UK is the scariest thing" compared to his homeland, explaining: "The worst thing that scares me the most over there – and let me preface this by saying, we have roundabouts here where I live, we have roundabouts everywhere – but your roundabouts are way scarier."

He pointed out the stark contrast in how British drivers use indicators (referred to as "blinkers" across the pond) when taking exits on roundabouts, which they don't do in the US. He went further to label UK roundabouts as "way more intricate".
"Your roundabouts – they're super tricky to me. They freak me out," he said, before admitting that UK driving terrifies him to the extent that he's unsure if he'll ever dare try it.
TikTok users were left in stitches over the clip, with many Brits taking to the comments to poke fun at him for his fear of driving here. One user quipped: "You might drive on the right side but we in the UK drive on the correct side ."
Another added: "AJ next time you come to England you need to visit the legendary magic roundabout in Swindon," while a third commented: "Google Swindon roundabout." Meanwhile, someone else joked: "You don't drive on the right side of the road, you drive on the WRONG side of the road."
