An American TikTok star says she has travelled to Glasgow in a bid to 'find herself a Viking warrior boyfriend'.

Sydney, who goes by SydneeTheUnicorn, arrived in Scotland this week after a psychic told her meeting a Scottish lad would change her life.

The 30-year-old influencer also hopes to uncover her past and culture after discovering “the majority” of her family come from Glasgow.

She is now considering chucking California and setting up in Scotland if it lives up to her expectations, as it has always been her dream to see the country.

The TikTok celebrity has 80,000 followers who she plans on taking with her on this latest adventure.

Sydney burst to fame online after performing dances on her account @SydneeTheUnicorn3.0, and showing off her colourful outfits.

She also has 13 million followers on on streaming website BigoLive, which ranks her 12th globally and number one in America.

Sydney told the Glasgow Times: “I was told by a psychic that the moment I found my Scottish Viking warrior my world would come together.

“This is my first time coming to Scotland. I watch a lot of historical shows that depict how it would be but I'm excited to see it for myself.

“I find the culture super interesting. I have been called a unicorn my whole life so I think I will fit in.

“My hair is also purple which I know is a big colour in Scotland, like the thistle.

“I live in California and am thinking of leaving it behind to come here full-time.

“It has always been a big dream so I am excited to learn a lot.”

Sydney used DNA genetic testing company 23andme last year and discovered she is 25% Scottish.

She also uncovered that her grandfather’s name is James Craig, but doesn’t know much else at this stage.

The TikToker hopes her trip to Scotland may uncover more about her past so she can get back to her roots.

Sydney said: “Since I am a content creator I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to show my followers Scotland while learning about my heritage.

“I stream live and get millions of downloads, so if people reach out from that and know anything about my roots or grandfather James Craig that would be interesting.

“On my account I like to take my followers along on my travels. I have been to Egypt and Rome recently.”

Sydney also plans on visiting Edinburgh and Dundee on her travels to get a better idea of what Scotland is really like.

She is excited to explore Harry Potter hotspots in the capital as the books offered an “escape” for her as a child in America.

Sydney said: “I am excited to see Glasgow and also Edinburgh because I am a huge Harry Potter fan, that was a massive part of my childhood.

“I went to a lot of different schools so reading the books was a big escape for me since I didn't have a lot of friends.

“It is the perfect opportunity to go learn more about it, I can’t wait for that.”
