An American tourist has issued a warning to fellow holidaymakers after she was left 'shaking'.

Taking to TikTok, Anna shared how she had to haul a '50 pound suitcase' through the city centre to her hotel. However, she was caught off guard by Edinburgh's landscape.

Speaking from her hotel room, the TikToker expressed how she wished she got a cab from the train to the hotel and warned other tourists not to make the same mistake.

While Anna said the city was beautiful, she said she had to 'keep her head down' as she pulled her massive suitcase from Waverley to the Grassmarket.

She said: "I just made it to Edinburgh, and I just have to tell you if you come here and think, 'when I get off the train and save money and walk half a mile with a 50-pound suitcase' - you just need to completely second guess that. Think, I don't care if it's a $1,000, get an Uber.

"I'm shaking. I thought I was semi-in shape. This place is no joke.

"Cobblestones everywhere, stairs everywhere, hills everywhere. Beauty everywhere. I was like, head down. Don't look when you're in this negative state of mind as I was lagging the stuff behind me."

Others flocked to the comments and shared their frustration.

One said: "That’s why I tore up my suitcase. Had to duct tape it together."

Another replied: "We stayed in Grassmarket and absolutely took an Uber to Waverly. The hills are no joke!"

Anna added: "I'm still sore 48 hours later."
