Ameris Bancorp: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

MOULTRIE, Ga. (AP) _ Ameris Bancorp (ABCB) on Friday reported third-quarter profit of $41.4 million.

The Moultrie, Georgia-based bank said it had earnings of 87 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and pretax expenses, were 91 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 90 cents per share.

The bank posted revenue of $151.3 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $129.2 million, which did not meet Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $135.4 million.

Ameris Bancorp shares have declined 11 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 13 percent in the last 12 months.
