AMG driver who 'came to Liverpool to party' clocked at 140mph

A man who "came to party" was clocked speeding at 140mph and arrested twice in 48 hours, according to police.

Merseyside Police arrested the driver of a Mercedes-AMG in Liverpool after the vehicle was tracked at 140mph. The arrested man then tested positive for cannabis and spend the night behind bars.

Police said a few hours after his release he was stopped again and this time tested positive not only for cannabis, but cocaine too.

Merseyside Police tweeted about the incident, with a picture of the car and a dashcam image showing the speed it was recorded at on the motorway.

They tweeted: "The driver of this #AMG came to Liverpool for a party but ended with a double stay in Custody. He was paced at 140mph before being stopped and testing positive for #Cannabis.

"A few hours after release the next day he was stopped again, and tested positive for Cannabis & Cocaine!"
