Rumours are circulating that Amir Khan could be in line for a spectacular return to the ring, after the former boxer sent a cryptic message.

Some have suggested the former world champion could fight YouTuber and now boxer KSI. Khan, 37, has not fought in two years since his defeat to rival Kell Brook.

The Bolton-born fighter has teased his fans with a cryptic message on social media. The 2004 Olympic silver medallist wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "The King is BACK. News coming soon..." followed by the post: "EASY Money".

The boxer competed from 2005 to 2022 but retired after his fight with Brook. It emerged afterwards that he was hit with a two-year suspension by UK Anti-Doping (UKAD).

UKAD permitted the suspension when he failed a doping test for the banned substance ostraine - but accepting Khan's defence that he did not knowingly digest the substance. The seasoned boxer with a 34 - 6 record held the unified light-welterweight world championships between 2009 and 2022, including the WBA and IBF titles.

Khan, who has fought some of the best boxers in his era, also revealed in February he was back in training - and now it could be influencer KSI he comes back into the boxing ring with. KSI himself has yet to speak on the potential fight.

KSI is a renowned YouTuber with a 1-1 professional record, defeating Logan Paul in 2019 before losing on points to Tommy Fury in 2023. He is also the founder of Misfits Boxing which stages fights predominantly involving internet personalities.

Responding to Khan's cryptic social media post, one fan said: "Let's go! Get back in the ring!"

Another fan said: "Amir Khan vs KSI, I was not expecting this at all." A third said: "KSI???"

"Why you fighting again??? Stay retired you have had a good boxing career don't ruin your legacy," one other fan said.

A fourth added: "No way this is happening!!!"
