Amir Khan vs Manny Pacquiao: Briton claims both camps have signed up for November contest in Saudi Arabia

Amir Khan claims to have secured a high-profile fight against Manny Pacquiao at long last.

Back at his academy in Bolton after returning from Saudi Arabia, Britain's former unified light-welterweight champion assembled the media on Tuesday to announce that both parties had signed on for a November 8 contest in Riyadh.

Khan claimed the WBC international welterweight title in Saudi Arabia on Friday evening after a comfortable fourth-round stoppage of Australian Billy Dib - a late replacement for the injured Neeraj Goyat - at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, a fight for which he is said to have earned around £7million.

The 2004 Olympic silver medalist now looks to be heading back to the country for another lucrative and far more noteworthy bout, with Pacquiao lined up as his next opponent.

Khan has been chasing a fight with 'Pacman' for many years, though any injury sustained by the latter during his next contest - or even a potential retirement decision - could potentially scupper things once again, as could a possible rematch.

Pacquiao, who turns 41 in December, will step into the ring for the 71st time as a professional on Saturday night as he takes on the undefeated Keith "One Time" Thurman for the WBA (Super) welterweight belt in Las Vegas.

Khan added that, though both camps have signed up for November, he does have back-up plans in the event that there is a hitch.

However, he is hopeful that this will finally be his chance to take on the eight-division world champion and boxing legend.
