Amy Adams is "spectacular" in Sharp Objects, HBO has teased.

Speaking at a panel at the INTV conference in Israel, HBO's vice president of drama David Levine teased that Adams's performance as troubled journalist Camille Preaker in the Gillian Flynn adaptation is pretty sensational.

But, come on. Were you expecting anything less?

Sharp Objects follows Chicago-based reporter Camille Preaker (Adams), who is sent back to her Missouri hometown to investigate the death of a small girl and the disappearance of another, just months after being released from a psychiatric hospital for self-harm.

While there, Camille sets out to uncover what happened to the girls while battling her own personal demons and her domineering mother Adora (Patricia Clarkson).

A trailer of sorts for the limited miniseries was unveiled in a HBO 2018 preview trailer at the end of last year.
