Amy Dowden breaks silence as she gives Strictly Come Dancing health update
Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden has broken her silence following a health scare over the weekend.
During a chat on It Takes Two with Janette Manrara, Lauren Oakley and JB Gill, the 34 year old Welsh dancer revealed she was rushed to Barnet Hospital from Elstree Studios, where the BBC One show is filmed, after "feeling unwell" post the live show.
The hospital visit was described as a "precaution". However, in a surprise turn of events, Amy made an appearance on the Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two on Friday (November 1), providing an update on her health.

Speaking to presenter Janette, while JB prepares for his performance with temporary dance partner Lauren Oakley, Amy said: "I'm feeling so much better and I'd just like to thank everyone for all the love and support I've received and to my Strictly family".
Amy's celebrity dance partner, JLS star JB Gill, took to Instagram on Monday to express gratitude for the public's support following Amy's health scare.
He wrote: "On behalf of both @amy_dowden and I, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for voting for us and wishing us well. We absolutely loved our performance on Saturday night and are so grateful to be through to another week on @bbcstrictly Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support."
This year saw Amy make a return to the dance floor after receiving treatment for breast cancer, which included undergoing a mastectomy and chemotherapy sessions. In a dramatic turn of events during Sunday night's pre-recorded Results Show, JB found himself standing solo on stage, reports the Mirror.
Fortunately, he and Dowden were spared from landing in the bottom two after impressing with their foxtrot set to Toploader's "Dancing In The Moonlight".
Amy's representative commented on the situation: "Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution. She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern. We request Amy's privacy in matters of health is kindly respected."
The BBC explained Amy's absence from the results show, which is taped on Saturday following the live broadcast and airs on Sunday, as "due to unforeseen circumstances" she was "unable" to participate.
A representative for the East of England Ambulance Service provided details of the incident: "We were called just after 9pm on Saturday to attend a medical emergency at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood. An ambulance was sent to the scene. One patient, an adult female, was transported to Barnet Hospital for further care."
Amy had a health scare last year when she discovered a lump in her breast while honeymooning in the Maldives with fellow professional dancer, Ben Jones. She was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.
After treatment, this February brought a glimmer of hope when she revealed that she now shows "no evidence of disease".
Amy Dowden has publicly documented her struggle with cancer, inspired by the positive outcomes from her documentary about Crohn's disease. She acknowledged how creating the piece helped her to "accept" her condition for the "first time ever".
In the BBC show Strictly Amy: Crohn’s And Me, she delved into her own battle with Crohn's disease and connected with others affected by it. According to the NHS website, Crohn's disease is a lifelong condition that leads to parts of the digestive system becoming inflamed, resulting in symptoms like stomach pains, tiredness and diarrhoea.
During the 2022 Strictly live tour, Amy had to be hospitalised in Manchester due to a Crohn's flare-up.
