Andrew Lincoln has taken some time out from fighting off flesh-eating zombies in The Walking Dead to appear in Comic Relief's Love Actually revival and reckons it's "very exciting".

No kidding – we can't flipping wait.

"It's fun and going to be really great to see everyone again," he told Entertainment Weekly.

"It's very exciting. It's a very cool thing."

As a follow-up to one of the best scenes in any Christmas movie ever, we will finally get to see what happened between his character Mark and Keira Knightly's Juliet once the credits rolled.

But he won't be letting the cat out of the bag just yet. "No spoilers," he quipped.

So, we might not have managed to squeeze much out of Lincoln, but writer and director Richard Curtis has given us a few tidbits to tide us over until the big night.

Not all the cast will be back because the mini sequel is only going to be around 10 minutes long, but there's a fair few returning.

Despite originally hinting that the script was still in flux and that Emma Thompson could reprise her role as harried housewife Karen, Curtis later confirmed that the actress would not be appearing.

"We're not doing everyone – we're doing about two thirds of people," he said. "Ems isn't in it. She just can't do it."

There'll be no tribute, either, to the late Alan Rickman, who played Karen's cheating husband Harry. "Dealing with Alan is very complicated, so not really," Curtis said when quizzed on the topic.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens when the follow-up to the 2003 film will be broadcast on Red Nose Day on Friday, March 24 on BBC One.
