Fresh from laying down his tennis racket for the final time this year, Scotland's most legendary tennis player is heading out on tour.

Andy Murray has announced he'll be taking to the stage next summer for his first-ever theatre tour.

The former World number one, who has won three Grand Slam singles titles, will begin the four nights of shows in Glasgow's Armadillo on June 18 before heading to Edinburgh, Hammersmith, and Wimbledon.

Dubbed Centre Stage, the event is scheduled to run across four nights in June next year and will culminate at the New Wimbledon Theatre the night before next year's Championships get underway.

The show will be hosted by The BBC's Andrew Cotter, and tickets will go on sale this Thursday on Andy Murray's official website.

The event will see Andy pull back the curtain on his playing days, winning those famous titles at Wimbledon and his notorious battle with Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer to be named the world's best.
