Ange Postecoglou in brutal put down as Tottenham boss escalates love-hate relationship with English press jab
Ange Postecoglou has continued his love-hate relationship with the English media after jokingly telling a foreign report never to make the mistake of believing what is written in the papers.
The 59-year-old - who is in his second season with Tottenham after leaving Celtic in the summer of 2023 - has been known to clash with journalists throughout his career, and is not shy in telling them what he really things. And ahead of Spurs' Europa League opener against Qarabag in Azerbaijan on Thursday, the former Hoops boss poked fun at the media down south once again. Asked by a Azerbaijani about whether reports in England that claim Spurs will go all out in attack against Qarabag, he quipped: "Never believe the English press. Don't make that mistake. We'll just play our football."
It comes just weeks after the Aussie reacted angrily to a reporter in the wake of Spurs 1-0 loss to Arsenal in the North London derby When asked how confident he is that his team can go on and lift a trophy this season despite their challenging start in the first two months of the season, Postecoglou replied: "Am I going to answer the question or are you going to keep asking me?
