Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has massive calls to make ahead of his first North London derby with one of them being if he brings back the hero of last weekend Richarlison into the starting eleven or keep him as an impact sub.

The Lilywhites have seen their preparation for the game hit by the news that winger Ivan Perisic has suffered an ACL injury that will now keep him out for the rest of the season. The news also means a new man now comes into the bench at least to make up the numbers.

Spurs boss Postecoglou admitted the news was disappointing, especially at a time when everything at the club was beginning to take off. He told reporters: “ Yeah, disappointing, first of all for Ivan more than anything else. Just one of those innocuous things that can happen in training.

“I’ve only worked with him for a while but you can see why he’s been at the top for so many years. It’s been really disappointing for us as well because he’s been great for us and we don’t have a lot of experience in the group and he’s a real level head.

“He’s very strong-willed and I have no doubt that he’ll be back for club and country and stronger than ever.”

Tottenham have benefited from everyone pulling in the same direction since Ange Postecoglou arrived but there is no hiding from the fact that Richarlison who joined last year for £60million from Everton can be a bigger player for them.

Now that he’s got his goal against Sheffield the expectation is that he will now go on a run and help soften the blow of losing Harry Kane.
