Scott and Bailey star Angela Griffin has revealed she’s NEVER grown out of her hatred of her Size 9 feet.

Speaking to host Kate Thornton on new podcast, White Wine Question Time, Ang admitted: “I thought there would be a point when I wouldn’t care about them, and I really, really do.

“I just want to wear nice shoes.”

Fellow guest Heidi Range protested: “I’ve never noticed your feet!”

But Ang was adamant, adding “I hate them!”

As a child, she said, she had to go to a special shoe store to get bigger shoes, which she says were always “hideous” and had “velcro straps”.

Thankfully, Ang says she was never teased about them: “I just wore black Nike trainers when I went to high school”. While Kate joked that bullies would have been afraid to be kicked by her “massive feet”.

Apart from her feet, you’ll be pleased to hear that she’s a body positivity activist thanks to lessons from her mother.

“My mum was always overweight – like obese overweight – so in our house when we were growing up, what you looked like [wasn’t important],” she said. “I do feel that I took that with me for years and years.”

Filming in Canada, and doing pilot season in the U.S. definitely took its toll, she says. But she adamant that she doesn’t fret about the overall package: “I’ve never been blonde, I’ve never been thin: I’ve never had to compete on that level. I’ve always been ‘other’. So I don’t even have to get involved in that. There’s no point, because I’m never ever going to win that. That kind of helps with that confidence.”

All of the guests – including Ang, Heidi and Lisa Faulkner – agreed they would be having stern “words with themselves” about being more positive about their bodies: for the sake of their daughters.

“We have to walk around – whether we believe it or not – so that our daughters see that it’s not [that bad],” Ang said.
