Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt no longer married as actress drops ex-husband's name years after filing for divorce

Angelina Jolie has dropped Brad Pitt’s surname from her name after the pair were declared “officially single” by a judge, despite their divorce not being finalised.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, are no longer married after a three-year separation battle. Lawyers for the pair had asked for a bifurcated judgement, which meant they could be declared legally single before all issues in the divorce were resolved.

It is unclear what issues remain unresolved but Jolie, 43, filed papers claiming Pitt, 55, was not paying sufficient child support. His attorneys have disputed the claims.

Jolie and Pitt have six children together – Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

The Hollywood A-Listers called time on their relationship in September 2016 after nearly 12 years together.

They met on the set of 2003 hit Mr & Mrs Smith while Pitt was still married to actress Jennifer Aniston, from whom he later divorced in 2005.

In February, the full brood were pictured with Jolie at a special screening of The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind.

The famous family posed for pictures before settling down to watch Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Netflix film, which debuted on the steaming service in March.

Jolie was also joined by Zahara, Shiloh and the twins at the star-studded Los Angeles premiere of Tim Burton’s Dumbo last month.

Jolie, dressed in a white gown with an open back, posed with her brood on the red carpet outside the El Capitan Theatre where they watched the Disney film.

Although she does not star in the live-action remake, Jolie will soon be back on screens in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil which is slated for release later this year.
