Residents rang police amid concerns over "veterans" selling goods on Anglesey. Two men were believed to be peddling items on doorsteps.

A witness reported seeing the men wandering around Llangristiolus and Rhostrehwfa, on the island on Tuesday evening. They were allegedly knocking on doors and giving those who answered a story about being former Army veterans or reformed offenders down on their luck.

They were understood to be trying to sell items from their rucksacks, according to the witness. However it is thought that one of the salesmen then got into a white Mercedes. Get the best island stories from our Anglesey newsletter
