Animal Crossing fans don’t have long to wait for the much-anticipated mobile version of the game to arrive.

Nintendo has confirmed that Animal Crossing Pocket Camp will be hitting the UK app store on Wednesday, November 22.

The game, available on iOS and Android, tasks players with running a campsite for a group of animal characters, with activities including fishing, bug hunting, shopping, and more.

Players will collect resources that allow them to expand and improve their camps.

Best of all, the game will be free to play – meaning gamers won't have to shell a penny to get stuck in.

Pocket Camp will also include in-app purchases for more hardcore players, which can cut down waiting times and purchase new materials.

The game is Nintendo’s third official mobile release, following the launches of Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes.

Pocket Camp is the first traditional Animal Crossing game since 2012’s New Leaf on the Nintendo 3DS. Most recently the franchise released a spin-off, Happy Home Designer, in 2015.
