From Red Online

Anita Rani has opened up about the positive impact writing about her miscarriage for Red has had in helping her heal.

The Countryfile presenter shared her experience, writing frankly and candidly about her struggles processing grief and loss back in January.

She recalled the aftermath of her miscarriage in 2018, writing: 'I ignored it, dusted it off and emerged back as my old self. But something didn't feel right...It's only now, after a year of reflection and paying attention, that I fully understand what the problem was: I was sad. Deeply, truly and cripplingly sad.'

Anita's article resonated with so many of our readers, many of whom reached out to thank her and shared their own stories.

Now, nine months on, she's spoken about the importance of using her voice to highlight an issue that often isn't talked about.

'It’s difficult to talk about, because it’s bereavement,' she told Fabulous Magazine. 'It’s a loss, and that will never change. But it’s too exhausting not living truthfully and I also thought it was too important not to use my voice. Nobody talks about it, yet so many women have gone through it.'

She added: 'Lots of women and men have reached out to me since and spoken about what they went through. The response was amazing and I think that is the biggest thing about sharing your experiences.'

Anita also said that women have 'incredible resilience' and 'just suck a lot of things up', but 'that doesn't mean we can't share pain as well'.
